The Back-up Plan

Are you planning a spring mom's night out or maybe just a special movie date night with the hubs? The Back-up Plan is a romantic comedy coming out April 23, 2010.

About the movie:

The Back-up Plan is a comedy that explores dating, love, marriage and family “in reverse.” After years of dating, Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) has decided waiting for the right one is taking too long. Determined to become a mother, she commits to a plan, makes an appointment and decides to go it alone. That same day, Zoe meets Stan (Alex O’Loughlin) – a man with real possibilities. Trying to nurture a budding relationship and hide the early signs of pregnancy becomes a comedy of errors for Zoe and creates confusing signals for Stan. Anyone can fall in love, get married and have a baby but doing it backwards in hyper-drive is the real pregnancy test.

Go here to watch the movie trailer. Looks like a fun movie, doesn't it?!!

You can become a friend of The Back-up Plan on Facebook, and you can also become a follower on Twitter!

Busy Julie is an Ambassador for The View!!!

Guess what! I am so excited to announce that I have been chosen to be a The View Brand Ambassador!!!

I have been watching The View since Star Jones and Debbie Matenopoulos were on the show. Each new co-host since has brought something new to the table. I love the "Hot Topics" segments and enjoy hearing each of the ladies' points of view. I also love to see what the ladies are wearing each day!

Did you know The View has a great sweepstakes currently running at Mom Central? One lucky winner will be randomly selected to receive a trip to New York City to watch a taping of The View! The sweepstakes is open until February 28. Go here to sign up!

I hope you will 'take time to enjoy The View' tomorrow and Friday! Here's the lineup for the rest of this week: Thursday will feature the stars of the Style Network's Bill & Giuliana, Giuliana Rancic and her husband Bill Rancic. Friday, we'll get to see Regis and Joy Philbin, who will treat the audience to a special song from their new CD, Just You. Just Me.

Disclaimer: I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for ABC Daytime and will receive a tote bag or other The View branded items to facilitate my review.

BUSYJULIE'S REVIEW:

What a great resource! This book is chock-full of great information! Michelle covers all the basics, as well as the stuff you don't really think about or you may think is "common sense"...until you read the list and realize, "Wow! That's something I never thought of!" And all the lists are not just about parenting and childcare. "Instant Pick-Me-Ups" is a reminder for moms to take care of themselves! This book would be a great baby shower gift or just a terrific addition to your parenting library. Check it out!

Disclaimer: I was not paid for a review of this book, positive or negative. I did receive a gratis copy of the book from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group. These are my own opinions.

Where in the World is Busy Julie?!!

I have been out of the blogging world for a while because we have had a ton of snow days and my kids have been home and keeping me busy! Stay tuned, though, because I have tons of reviews to be posted!!!

Menu Plan Monday

This week I am trying to add more vegetables into my family's diet. I also seem to always serve beef and chicken, so I am trying to change things up using this formula for creating the weekly menu:

7 days:
1 fish
1 chicken
1 turkey
1 pork
1 beef
1 main-dish salad
1 soup

Hopefully one or more of the recipes will be able to cook in the crock pot! I love my crock pot!

Here's the plan for the week:

Maple Glazed Pork with Mashed Potatoes and Parsnips (from February 10 issue of Family Circle magazine)

Teriyaki Salmon with Glazed Broccoli Salad (also from the same issue of Family Circle, but also found here)

Chili, Baked Potatoes

Chicken Tomato Soup

Loaded Spinach Salad

Lasagna (from the freezer), Leftover Salad

Crock Pot Beef Roast with Carrots and Potatoes

Have you tried any new recipes this week? Leave a comment and tell me!
