Review - Dilmah Tea

I had never heard of Dilmah Tea until I was recently given an opportunity to sample the product. The Dilmah website states, "Dilmah is the product of a lifetime devoted to tea." With that kind of passion, you know this is going to be a top-of-the-line product. The website offers a comprehensive course on Ceylon tea, including the history, tea-growing regions, and the heath benefits of Ceylon tea.

I received two types of tea to sample, the English breakfast tea and the Natural Ceylon Green Tea. Both were excellent and totally met my expectations.

The English breakfast tea was robust, full bodied and flavorful. I brewed it in the mug and added honey. Perfection, and a great change of pace from my morning coffee!

I had the Natural Green Tea after a long day of errand-running and chores. It was light, crisp and clean. I also added honey to sweeten the cup, but it really did not need much at all. This tea really relaxed me and helped me wind down from the day.

If you are looking to try a wonderful premium tea, head over to Dilmah and browse their selection. I also saw lots of different fruit-flavored teas on the website, including strawberry, peach, mango and lemon! I might have to check those out! With the holidays quickly approaching, you may also be interested in giving a gift of tea!

(Disclaimer - I was not paid for this review. I received samples of the product to try, and these are my honest opinions of the products.)

Review - The Jesus Book by Stephen Elkins

The Jesus Book by Stephen Elkins is a children's book described as "The Ultimate Who, What, When, Where, and Why Book" about Jesus. Appropriate for the preschool and elementary age groups, the book is divided into sections including Who Jesus Is, What Jesus Did, What Jesus Taught, When It Happened, Where It Happened, Why It Happened, and How it Happened. Each section is also subdivided into stories describing Jesus' life, how he lived, and what he did in his life and the things he taught during his life. Scripture references also accompany each story. The events of Jesus' life are illustrated by Claudine Gevry.

My girls are really enjoying this book. It also comes with a 30-Song CD that the kids have been singing along with karaoke-style. The message is simple and the ideas are clear. The author says, "The Jesus Book was written to help teach children about the life of Christ and how to enter a life-long relationship with him." If you are looking for a book that will clearly and biblically describe to children who Jesus was and why he lived, this is a great choice!

(Disclaimer - This book was sent to me from Thomas Nelson Books as part of their book reviewer program. I was not compensated in any way for this review, nor was I required to write a favorable review. This is my honest opinion of this book.)

Review - Rock of Ages Original Broadway Cast Recording

Are you a child of the 80s? Then I know you get excited when you hear Dee Snider's infamous words...I WANNA ROCK!!!

The One2One Network recently sent me a copy of the original Broadway cast recording of Rock of Ages to check out. And let me tell you, it love it!

I have to confess, I am a HUGE Broadway fan. I love musicals, from Les Miserables to Hair to Spring Awakening to Cats, and everything in between!

And, I'm a child of the 80s. I remember when MTV first launched! I loved the videos and watched every day after school. As I got into middle school and high school, Hair Bands were all the rage. So, when I first popped in this CD, I knew all the songs and all the lyrics! (It's pretty remarkable what random stuff is locked away in this brain of mine!)

Here are just some of the tracks featured on the Rock of Ages OBC Recording:

Just Like Paradise / Nothin' But A Good Time
Sister Christian
I Wanna Rock
We're Not Gonna Take It
Wanted Dead Or Alive
Here I Go Again
Any Way You Want It / I Wanna Rock (Reprise)
High Enough
Hit Me With Your Best Shot
Can't Fight This Feeling
Every Rose Has Its Thorn
Oh Sherrie
Don't Stop Believin

And if you are an American Idol fan and remember Constantine Maroulis, he's the actor who plays the main character of the show, Drew, and he sings on most of the tracks. The Rock of Ages show is set in 1987 in a legendary Sunset Strip rock club, where a small-town girl meets a big-city dreamer. Against the odds, they fall in love to backdrop of the greatest metal songs of the 80s. Fun, eh?!!

Now, these songs are not entirely the rock songs you remember. This IS a Broadway cast recording. So, every word is eee-nun-cee-aaa-ted! Yes, every syllable is pronouced, emphasized and enunciated to 100% perfect clarity. But, it's still a pretty rockin' CD.

Moms, housework will get done faster while you are singing along with this CD. When you are driving the minivan and want to sing at the top of your voice, you won't even notice driver next to you at the red light giving you crazy looks! You will be too busy rockin' out!

You can purchase the Rock of Ages Original Broadway Cast Recording at Amazon. I hope you will check it out!

(Disclaimer: I was not paid for this post. I was provided a copy of the CD for review purposes only.)
